It may not seem like it, but the idea of putting together a regularly-scheduled training session for LibreOffice basics for public consumption would have already been thought of.
And it may very well have all over the world. However, it would appear that LibreOffice training has not had a foothold in the North America, or at least the United States.
Until now.
TOG Solutions, having always provided support for OpenOffice.org, made the transition to offering the same level of training and support for LibreOffice. Up until now, it has only been available to organizations at their request.
Now, we have taken this idea to the next level. We have partnered with the Funutation Tekademy, a Cleveland-area company that currently provides technical educational programs to school-age children. In addition, Funutation also provides technical training to adult, particularly Linux.
The partnership with TOG Solutions and Funutation Tekademy has developed into the creation and kick-off of a new program. LibreOffice basics training will now take place every second Tuesday of the month, starting on November 13, 2012 at 1:00pm Eastern, at a price of $99 per person.
The four-hour program provides a transitional experience for users whose employers are moving from Microsoft Office into LibreOffice. The training session will also guide participants through the entire LibreOffice suite, including the most frequently used functions like mail merges and charts.
