I felt that this company, VisualCV, needed a dedicated post.
Yes, that’s how much of an impact this new technology can have.
Last week, in Part One of my Career Transition 2.0 piece, I touched a little bit on how VisualCV’s emerging presence will be something that those making a career change will want to take a good look at.
Now that I’ve taken a much better look at it, VisualCV has the type of firepower that will make any potential employer stand up and notice.
As I mentioned earlier, VisualCV allows users to use the best parts of the traditional resume and interactive media. In reality, the bells and whistles of Web 2.0, including video and video, are well represented here, though not in the gaudy manner that makes a site like, say, MySpace, or as rigid that a system like LinkedIn has in place.
And, as an added bonus, you’ll find companies like Amazon and Citrix that are already building their profiles to attract prospective employees.
With a little less than 63,000 people with VisualCVs at the moment (compared to the millions on other social networking sites), getting in on the ground floor is a great idea. I should know. I’m there, too.
